Bhushan Sopori

Music is an ancestral legacy to Bhushan Sopori.He was born in a family of
renowned musicians who hail from the beautiful valley of Kashmir, India. He
received his musical training since early childhood from his father, Pandit
Shambu Nath Sopori. From an early age of about 10, Bhushan Sopori was
exposed to public performances and was affectionately called Little
Professor.He has played TABLA (Indian drums) in concerts, accompanying
many top-ranking Indian musicians and his most favorite music performers –
(noteably Nikhil Banerjee, when Bhushan was merely fourteen years old.)
his father and brother (Pandit Bhajan Sopori). Bhushan Sopori has also
learnt sitar from childhood, but only recently started to give public
performances on this instrument.

Although music is his passion, Dr. Bhushan Sopori is a electrical engineer
by profession.He works as a Principal Engineer at the National Renewable
Energy Laboratory, Golden, Colorado.
He is also the Director of Sopori Sangeet Academy, where he teaches sitar and tabla.
